Summary Note |
The story of a group of Jewish men who, after the outbreak of World War II, were sent to Australia from England on board the S.S. Dunera. In what amounted to a tragi-comedy of errors they were interned in a camp at Hay, N.S.W., a location which 'the Boys' transformed into a parody of Viennese cafe society. They gradually broke down barriers and some later became people of great distinction in post-war Australia. |
