Summary Note |
Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Katherine Mansfield's life was only a short 34 years, but she not only wrote some of our finest short stories, she also helped to shape the modern short story. Both Virginia Woolf and D.H. Lawrence were greatly influenced by her work. Katherine's personal life was both controversal and traumatic, and she found inspiration in her own problems for her stories of alienation and loneliness. Katherine Mansfield is New Zealand's finest writer, yet her stories are universal. |
