Summary Note
A tempest of wind and rain raised by the magician Prospero shipwrecks Alonso, King of Naples, and his shipboard companions including Duke Antonio of Milan. They are marooned on an enchanted and spirit-filled island where each party believes that they are the only survivors. Propsero brings King Alonso and Duke Antonio safely ashore. Unbeknown to the rest of the castaways, Ferdinand, the King's son, arrives seperately and meets Miranda, Prospero's daughter. The two fall passionately in love..
