Having successfully solved two murders in the City of Lights, newly minted private detectives Rachel Levis and Magda Stevens are ready to take on the world. Or at least the 3rd arrondissement. Which is good news, when a renowned fashion designer is found lifeless at his own birthday party in the upscale neighbourhood, dead from an apparent overdose. At first, Rachel and Magda use the accidental death merely as an opportunity to hone their research-gathering skills, but when evidence points to this being more than a good-time-gone-bad, the Americans roll up their sleeves for another murder investigation. And there are plenty of suspects: the angry assistant designer denied a promotion; the pretty PA who was crushed by the designer's brutally negative assessment of her talents; the former fellow-addicts who lost their supply once the deceased landed in rehab. Not to mention that the designer's murder occurred a few days after those of an American tourist and an Orthodox rabbi. Paris seems to be crowded with corpses. Coincidence or just bad luck? |
